PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A man is dead after a deal went bad in the parking lot of an Arizona Home Depot, police said.

Adrian Ayiers, 45, approached two men in a vehicle in the lot near 99th Avenue and Camelback Road about 3 p.m. The men, ages 20 and 21, were trying to sell items out of their vehicle, according to Phoenix police Sgt. Trent Crump.

Ayiers was asking questions and acting odd, refused to leave and pulled out a gun, allegedly to rob the two men, Crump said. One of the occupants in the vehicle also produced a gun and opened fire.

Ayiers was taken to a hospital where he died.

The two men were interviewed by police and released, but the investigation was continuing, Crump said.
