TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A person on the Lucas County treasurer's "Dirty Three Dozen" list of delinquent property taxpayers says he's trying to get off that list.

Local bar owner Kip Diacou says he's in the process of liquidating assets and plans to start paying the $285,339 he owes the county in unpaid property taxes.

Treasurer Wade Kapszukiewicz says he's hoping others on that list will also pay their dues, even if that means working out a payment plan.

"Whatever it takes, we are always willing to work with anyone who wants to make an honest attempt to paying taxes. I know times are tough in the restaurant and bar business, which is the business he's involved in, but they've been tough for everyone," said Kapszukiewicz.

Collectively, the top 36 delinquent taxpayers owe more than $5 million.
