BUENA VISTA TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

Police are investigating after a driver slammed a car into a local elementary school.

The crash happened around 11 p.m. Wednesday, off South 24th Street at the former Charles Brunkow Elementary School.

The building houses an Intermediate School District Head Start program.

Police wouldn't say much, but the car, a Pontiac G6, went through the side of the building.

A neighbor heard a car traveling at a high rate of speed and heard the car smash into the building but did not actually see the crash happen.

Buena Vista police say alcohol is not believed to be a factor and the driver's name is not being released. No one was seriously hurt.
