Grand Blanc Twp. man charged with shooting police officer

GRAND BLANC TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

A Grand Blanc Township man has been formally charged with shooting a police officer.

Marvin Ware, 69, faces two counts of assault with intent to murder.

Police were reportedly called to his home on a domestic dispute Monday. The incident happened at a home in the 5000 block of North Georgetown in Grand Blanc Township.

Police said Ware exited the home and opened fire on the officers. A female officer was hit during the exchange.

An officer returned fire and hit Ware.

Ware and the officer remain in the hospital. The officer's name has not been released.
