The city of Flint says a judge has dismissed a lawsuit against the city.
City council President Scott Kincaid filed suit last year.
He claims the recent water rate hikes violated city ordinance.
A judge has now ruled that the emergency financial manager law, which was in place at the time of the increases, gave the city power to increase rates to cover the operating expenses.
Kincaid could appeal the decision.
