Saginaw County to hold weeklong tire drive

Posted: Updated:
SAGINAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Old tires can be the perfect home for mosquitoes, just not in Saginaw County. A weeklong tire drive starts June 24 in an effort to cut down on the pesky bugs.

Here's a list of collection sites and dates:

  • Monday, June 24 - Carrollton High School, 1235 Mapleridge, Carrollton Township
  • Tuesday, June 25 - Brady Township Hall, 16020 Peet Rd. (Peet & Hemlock roads), Brady Township
  • Wednesday, June 26 - Harry Browne Airport, 4821 Janes, Buena Vista Township
  • Thursday, June 27 - Ric's Food Center, 176 Hemlock Plaza Dr., Richland Township
  • Friday, June 28 - Heritage High School (North Parking Lot), 3465 N. Center Rd., Saginaw Township

Saginaw County residents are eligible to drop off tires and each household is limited to 10 tires per week.

Large oversized tires with a combined height and width greater than 60 inches will not be accepted at the tire drive site. For disposal of oversized tires, contact Mosquito Abatement to schedule a dropoff at no cost directly at their facility during the Tire Drive week.

More information is available at the Saginaw County Mosquito Abatement website or by calling 989-755-5751.
