TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

While a local college prepares to close its doors, another has stepped in to help the students being affected.

The Toledo Branch of the Lincoln College of Technology is being closed at the end of the year due to declining enrollment.

Now, Herzing University-Toledo is opening their doors to affected students.

Herzing University Toledo President, Greg Guzman says Herzing will wave an enrollment fee and work to transfer as many credits as possible, which is likely due to the two schools having similar programs.

Guzman says if Lincoln students start working on the transfer now, they can be in Herzing classes just in time for Herzing's summer session, which begins July 8th.

"Momentum is everything. So once you're in the swing of taking classes and have a routine down, breaking that can really throw you off course. So hopefully Herzing University can step in." says Guzman. "We like to bill ourselves as convenient, career focused and caring. So this is one way that we're stepping in and hopefully going to be able to take care of those students down at Lincoln and move them along the path because we don't want that momentum to stop."

Interested students can call (419) 776- 0300 for more information on how to transfer from Lincoln to Herzing.
