Two homicides in Flint in 24 hour period

FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

Police are searching for suspects connected with the latest homicide in the city of Flint.

One shooting happened around noon Monday off East Austin Avenue near Martin Luther King Avenue.

Police said 23-year-old Demitrius Edwards was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Witnesses said they saw a mid-90s gray Ford Escort with passenger side damage flee the area.

Meanwhile, police are also investigating a shooting that killed a teenager.

That shooting happened just before 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon off Baldwin Boulevard between Glenn and Edwards Avenues in Flint as well.

This is the second shooting to happen in the city within 24 hours.

That's when police say found a male teenager, who was later taken to the hospital where he later died.

Police have not released the name of the victim or his age.
