Construction will soon get underway on a new water pipeline to Lake Huron.
The Genesee County Drain Commissioner says officials are set to break ground on the new KWA Pipeline at 10 a.m. Friday.
The groundbreaking will be held at a construction site near Lake Huron.
The $274 million project is expected to bring relief to Mid-Michigan residents, particularly those in Flint who are dealing with extremely high water rates.
Flint officials voted to stop getting water supply from Detroit earlier this year.
