PRESCOTT, AZ (CBS5) -

Fire officials said full containment of the Doce Fire northwest of Prescott could come by Wednesday.

Crews had the human-caused fire in the Granite Mountain Recreation Area about 80 percent contained by Tuesday night, according to fire officials with the U.S. Forest Service and Prescott National Forest.

All residential evacuations remained lifted, but stiff fire restrictions remained in place in the Prescott National Forests and surrounding areas.

The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.

It has cost about $6.2 million to battle the 6,767-acre fire that started June 18 about seven miles northwest of Prescott.

Officials were not taking any chances on the fire growing by keeping two hand crews, eight engines, one water tender and three helicopters in the area.

The only injury was a minor eye abrasion, officials said.

Granite Basin Road remained closed to the public and can only be accessed by residents with valid identification and proof of residency, officials said.

Alto Pits and Dosie Pit areas remain closed. Granite Basin Road and the Black Jack community were open to property owners with proof of residency only.

Recreation residences managed under permit by the Prescott National Forest remained closed. Contreras Road remained closed between Iron Springs and Tonto Road.

Firefighters continued rehabilitation and mop-up efforts on Tuesday.

Individuals who may have seen suspicious activity related to the Doce Fire are asked to contact Forest Service Law Enforcement and Investigations at 928-527-3508 or 928-527-3509.
