A swath of rainy weather moved through Mid-Michigan, pounding most parts of the TV5 viewing area. There are chances of thunderstorms on Friday and Saturday as well.

TV5 Meteorologist Catherine Bodak's forecast calls for a few more showers and thunderstorms Friday afternoon and early evening as temperatures climb into the mid 70s.  The cooler weather will stick around for the weekend with daytime highs in the middle to upper 70s. Additional showers are possible on Saturday with dry skies on tap for Sunday.

Many areas of Mid-Michigan are experiencing flooding issues. Many roads are underwater because of the influx of rain. Be careful when navigating through the area. WNEM has received reports that some areas have at least 18" of water.

Residents are cleaning up the mess mother nature left behind. People in Genesee County are dealing with flooded roads and basements. It's the same story for families living in the village of Goodrich. Residents say an old drain is to blame for the flooding because it hasn't been replaced.

Terese Allen a Goodrich homeowner says, "It's the wheelock and watkins drain and the village's neglect to take care of the situation they've known about since 1996."

TV5 spoke to a village commissioner who told us that the village commissioners dropped the ball nearly 20 years ago.

He says the project is on the desk of the Genesee County Drain Commissioner but says it's on a long list of projects to be completed.

WNEM has also received reports of fallen trees and lightning strikes that resulted in fires. A tree fell onto a house in southern Saginaw County. The home is located on East Moore Road near the insection of Sheridan Avenue.

A lightning strike fire was also reported at 3924 State Road in Bridgeport. Another lightning strike fire was reported on Bell Road in Bridgeport. A tree is believed to have fallen onto the house in that area.

Police were also assisting people out of their cars near the intersection of Holland Avenue and 25th Street in Buena Vista Township. The corner of Holland Avenue (M-46) was closed down at Outer Drive in Buena Vista Township as well.

We want to see what happened in your neck of the woods. Send us your wicked weather pics or post them on the WNEM Facebook page.
