Posted: Updated:

The Phoenix Fire Department responded to a drowning call involving a 22-month-old boy.

Capt. Tony Mure said a mother found her son in the pool, and he wasn't breathing. This happened near 51st Avenue and Estrella.

She called 911, and CPR was in progress when paramedics arrived, Mure said.

The boy was still not breathing when they transported him to Phoenix Children's Hospital.

His current condition is not known.
