Monroe County teen arrested for vehicle break ins

MONROE COUNTY, MI (Toledo News Now) -

Several vehicles were burglarized in the Carrington Subdivision of Monroe County early Wednesday morning.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, a caller reported seeing several men breaking into vehicles in the area of Carrington Blvd and S Custer Rd around 3:30 a.m. 

The suspects ran east when they were spotted, according to deputies.

Members of the Uniformed Services Division set up a perimeter and began searching the area.

An 18-year-old male was found hiding in the bushes near a home on the 3000 block of S Custer Rd around 5:30 a.m.

Stolen property was also found hidden in the area.

Authorities arrested the man and transported him to the Monroe County Jail. His name has not yet been released.

No other arrests have been made. The thefts are still under investigation.
