ISHPEMING, Mich. (AP) -

Upper Peninsula authorities have arrested two men they say abducted, tortured and raped two women in the basement of a business.

WLUC-TV says one woman was able to get a cellphone and call 911. It says Ishpeming police found the women duct-taped to support posts Tuesday.

The Mining Journal of Marquette says the 44- and 30-year-old women met 43-year-old Jason Sadowski at a bar and agreed to accompany him.

Police say Sadowski later asked one woman to kill the other.

Sadowski and 65-year-old Charles Cope were arraigned Wednesday. Sadowski is jailed without bond and Cope's bond is $500,000.

Both are charged with torture and kidnapping. Sadowski also is charged with criminal sexual conduct and solicitation to murder.

The men's preliminary examination is July 17. It's unknown if they have lawyers.
