Midland woman arrested for attempted murder

MIDLAND, MI (WNEM) -

Midland police officers were called to a home on a report of a domestic dispute.

Officers responded Thursday around 10:30 p.m. to the home on E. St. Andrews for the incident involving a 51-year-old Midland man and his 42-year-old wife.

After investigating the confrontation and speaking with the two individuals, the woman was arrested for attempted murder.

That woman is currently being held at the Midland County Jail. Police tell WNEM.com they're investigation into the case is ongoing and declined to release any further information.

According to the Midland Daily News, the woman is identified as Alicia Elliot and she's accused of trying to strangle her husband. She was arraigned Friday afternoon on an assault charge but remains jailed on a $100,000 bond.

Police did ask that any member of the public with information pertaining to the incident call the detective bureau at 989-631-4244.
