A third gang member has been sentenced to prison for a 2005 Flint-area arson that targeted a rival but killed a 25-year-old woman and her 7-year-old daughter.
A Genesee County judge Monday sentenced 31-year-old Samuel L. Wood of Flint to 14 years, 8 months to 22 years in prison. Wood pleaded no contest to second-degree murder.
Kokona Vaughn and daughter Ze'ona Burress died in an apartment fire in Mount Morris Township.
Authorities say the Pierson Hood gang members set the fire to flush out a rival they wanted to kill. That person wasn't in the building but was slain the next day.
In June, Garner Wood and Deandre Chambers were sentenced after pleading no contest to second-degree murder.
Robert Pendleton Jr. pleaded guilty to manslaughter and faces sentencing July 16.
