Fresh off a big weekend of fireworks, local businesses in downtown Bay City are busy preparing for yet another weekend of visitors.
Steve Frye from St. Laurent Brothers candy store looks forward to seeing all the visitors that the Tall Ship Celebration will attract.
"This is a great thing for Bay City and the whole Saginaw Bay Area," Frye said.
Organizers of the Tall Ship Celebration say they expect a crowd of around 100,000 in Bay City for the weekend. They predict the event will bring in more than $10 million to the local economy.
"Restaurants will have a lot of people come into the area to eat, gas sales will go up, rooms are going to be full, and we're gonna sell some candy," said Frye.
Other businesses are stocking their shelves and scheduling extra employees.
"Hopefully we'll have lines out the door and down the sidewalk," said Lindsey Caderly from Buoy 18.
