SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Three railroad crossings on the Norfolk Southern Mainline tracks in Springfield Township are currently closed, according to Holland police.

The crossings closed are located at Holland-Sylvania Road, McCord Road and Holloway Road.

Holland Police Chief Robert Reed says the gates at the crossings malfunctioned around 9 a.m. Tuesday. Although he could not fully explain the problem, he says Norfolk Southern Railroad is aware of it.

The bars are stuck down at the McCord tracks. One by one, cars are taking turns driving around it because there is no officer directing traffic.

Drivers are encouraged to take detours since the closings are causing traffic delays.
