As a severe thunderstorm reached the town of Haworth Thursday afternoon, winds from high up in the storm clouds struck down on StormTracker 12 Weather Spotter Steve Carter's home.

KSLA StormTracker 12 Weather Spotter Steve Carter got to see the power of severe weather up close this afternoon.  A severe thunderstorm tracked through McCurtain County, OK shortly after 4 PM.  As it reached the town of Haworth, winds from high up in the storm clouds struck down on Carter's home.

"It picked up my front porch and set it down about 6" from where it was at," Carter told KSLA Chief Meteorologist StormTracker Steve by phone.  "I've got a lot of shingles down missing off the roof.  There are lots of trees and tree branches down."

Carter said he was without power for more than 4 hours this evening in the wake of the storms.  Cracks have appeared around the walls and ceilings of his home.  He's now concerned more rain may lead to numerous leaks.

Power outages, downed trees and large hail were also reported in Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana.
