SPAULDING TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

A driver of a garbage collection truck has quite a story to tell after he was trapped inside his vehicle. It was initially believed that electrical wires fell onto the cab of the truck but it now confirmed that the wires down were telephone wires.

The incident happened near the intersection of M-13 or East Road and Moore Road in Saginaw County's Spaulding Township.

Consumers Energy responded to the scene at around 8:15 a.m. Friday morning. They cleared the scene and removed the telephone wires off of the man's truck.

The driver was pulling into the Relax Inn motel on M-13 when the wires fell down onto his truck. The driver of the truck stayed inside hios vehicle until it was determined that he was not in immediate danger. The driver of the truck was uninjured.

The situation had Moore Road closed down for a short time but the roadway is back open.

WNEM will continue to follow this story and will provide new information as it comes into the TV5 continuous newscenter.
