DEFIANCE COUNTY, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A Defiance woman was killed in a wreck at the intersection of Banner School Road and Carpenter Road on Saturday morning.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, it happened around 10:45 a.m.

Janice Thompson, 62, failed to yield the right of way at the intersection. Her Pontiac Grand AM struck a pickup truck, driven by 74-year-old Edward Osborn of Defiance.

The impact pushed both vehicles off to the southwest corner of the intersection.

Thompson was pronounced dead at the scene by the Defiance County Coroner. A juvenile passenger riding in Thompson's car was Life-Flighted to a Toledo area hospital. Officials say the passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Both Osborn and his passenger were transported to Defiance Regional Hospital with minor injuries.

Highway Patrolmen say everyone involved was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. The crash remains under investigation.
