WAUSEON, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Sara's Garden is a non-profit organization like none other in the country.

They are the only facility to provide hyperbaric oxygen therapy, an incredibly unique and life-changing service.

Kimberly Gallent drove all the way from Louisiana to Wauseon to bring her 2-year-old son Kylan to Sara's Garden. Kylan has cerebral palsy, but after just two days of treatment, Gallent says she noticed a difference.

"He's a lot better with separation from me than he was when it started," she said. "He's gotten a lot of therapy here, a lot more than he gets back home. He's loosened up a lot, he listens a little more."

Sara's Garden works with people with all kinds of disabilities, ranging from autism to traumatic brain injury and more. In addition to the hyperbaric oxygen therapy, they also provide conductive education, autism intervention, and sensory integration services.

"The vision and the dream behind Sara's Garden is taking these kids and these families and giving them hope, giving them independence, and making improvement so they can go on and excel in public, or wherever they want to go," said Principal Dave Burkholder.

Many see the services provided and the individual curriculum as an answer.

"Last year [my son] came in as non-verbal, not talking very much," said Bethany Piper. "Now, we're getting words. The other day we got a sentence, so…it's wonderful."

"I can prove what happens here with data," said Burkholder. "I've had a grandson who's been involved since he was two years old. A little boy who was told he would never walk, he would never talk, he would have a feeding tube. He has none of that."
