Teen arrested after allegedly opening fire on vehicle

SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

Michigan State Police troopers and Saginaw police officers were called after a witness claimed a person opened fire on an occupied vehicle.

The incident happened around 9 p.m. on Thursday on Webster Street near Holland Avenue to search for a suspect after he allegedly shot and struck the passenger door of a vehicle with people inside.

Officers said they spotted a suspect matching the description given to them by the victim and a patdown search was performed. Officers tell WNEM.com a gun was found on the teenager, who they describe as a 15-year-old boy from Saginaw.

The teen was arrested for assault with intent to commit murder. No further details were released. Stay with WNEM.com as we learn more about this case.
