TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The One SeaGate Building in downtown Toledo had to be evacuated due to a strong burning odor on the upper floors Tuesday afternoon.

Toledo Fire Lieutenant Matthew Hetrzfeld says the fire smell originated somewhere in the motor system for a bank of elevators on the building's top floor. The fire smell then spread to the top 10 or so floors of the building, leading to an evacuation. Toledo Fire crews responded to the call, but determined there was no threat of a fire.

Hetrzfeld says people will be allowed back in the building as soon as the smell dissipates.
