Standoff all clear in West Branch

WEST BRANCH, MI (WNEM) -

A man is in custody after a seven hour standoff with police. He's accused of threatening people with a gun.

Police responded the scene of a standoff in downtown West Branch Saturday. It ended around 1:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

A police barricade was placed around Houghton Avenue and Valley Street.

The Ogemaw County Sheriff's Department confirmed that the man was alone and that the incident ended peacefully.

Police have not released the name of the suspect in custody. He is currently lodged in the Ogemaw County Jail.
