Fire officials investigating suspicious fire in Bristol

Posted: Updated:

Bristol fire investigators are trying to figure out what started a fire inside a vacant building on East Main Street Sunday afternoon.

The building was once home to a hair salon but has remained vacant for a few years.

The building was undergoing a renovation.

The fire burned through the second floor of the building and went up through the roof.

Crews were able to stop the blaze from spreading to the front of the building.

A pizza shop owner across the street noticed the flames and called 911.

The investigation revealed the fire and the resulting damage to the rear of the building is suspicious in nature.

East Main Street at Central Street was closed for a few hours while crews put out the blaze.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Bristol Police Department at 860-584-3011.
