A hearse parked in the carport at an Arizona funeral home went up in flames early Sunday morning, police said.
Officers said the vehicle was a total loss.
During their investigation, police and fire officials found another vehicle had been tampered with at Westcott Funeral Home.
Investigators noticed carpet on the passenger side sustained recent burns but not enough to engulf the whole vehicle, said Cottonwood Fire Chief Mike Kuykendall.
About five minutes later, at 1:53 a.m. authorities got word of a second fire one block west of where the hearse caught fire.
Firefighters said they found a chair at a small apartment patio had been destroyed by fire.
After the fires were extinguished, police investigated two vehicle break-ins.
It's not known at this point if any of the crimes are connected.
The incidents remain under investigation.
