A quick round of heavy rain moved through the mountains early today, putting a damper on the morning commute. Elsewhere, we've been stuck with on and off rain showers on the lighter side, with areas of mist and general cloudiness.
Unstable air will continue to drive showers and storms through the Upstate, Northeastern GA and Western NC today, becoming stronger and more numerous as the day moves forward. With saturated ground, any area that sees a few rounds rounds of rain could see quick flash flooding, so be aware of that as you travel through low-lying areas and places near streams and creeks.
Overnight Wednesday we'll see some pockets of dry weather, but with a cold front approaching the area on Thursday, we have yet another round of showers and Thunderstorms moving through. Some of Thursday's storms could again be on the stronger side with damaging winds and hail.
Once that front passes, we're back to sunshine and temperatures near 90° by Friday, and should stay calm and clear at least until late Saturday afternoon.
