MIDLAND TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

The Midland County Sheriff's office is investigating an armed robbery that happened at Mike's Country Grocery store over the weekend.

The armed robbery took place just before 3 p.m. on Sunday at the store, located at 2005 E. Gordonville Road in Midland Township.

Midland Count Sheriff Scott Stephenson said a white male entered the store with a weapon displayed and demanded money from the clerk. Deputies said that man was wearing a mask and hat, stood about 6-feet tall and weighs about 220 lbs. No further description of the robber was offered by authorities.

Stephenson said witnesses told police a suspicious vehicle was seen in the area prior to the robbery. Sheriff's deputies are on the lookout for the owner of a dark colored sedan, possibly maroon, with a white or light colored hood in connection to the robbery.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the sheriff's office at 989-839-4609. The incident remains under investigation.
