The Midland County Sheriff's department says a 48-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash around 1 a.m. on Friday.
Midland County Sheriff Scott Stephenson said the man, from Canton, Mich., was traveling on M-30 near Moore Street in Edenville Township when he lost control of a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta and left the roadway.
The Jetta collided with a vacant building and the man, who authorities have not yet identified, was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical examiner shortly after the crash.
Stephenson said there were no other passengers in the car and that the crash remains under investigation pending lab results for drugs and alcohol.
