SAGINAW TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

Two men have been arraigned in connection to a home invasion, sex assault and robbery in Saginaw Township.

The home invasion happened at a home on Vincent, near Kendrick Street around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Police said the two men, identified as 29-year-old Demarcus Delvonn Reed and 26-year-old James Henry Brooks, were arrested a short distance from the scene after fleeing when police arrived.

Saginaw Township police said the suspects, armed with handguns, beat a 30-year-old man, sexually assaulted a 23-year-old woman and then robbed them.

Both men were charged with 24 counts each ranging from first-degree home invasion, unlawful imprisonment and firearms charges. Both men are also charged with first- and second-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Reed and Brooks remain lodged in the Saginaw County Jail and are both expected to be back in court Aug. 28 for a preliminary exam.
