A woman on a routine trip to the store with her baby had her wallet stolen and police are looking for help in identifying the man who is now using her credit card.
The Phoenix Police Department spokesman James Holmes said the car burglary happened in the parking lot of the Costco Store at 2450 E. Beardsley Rd. about 3:30 p.m. on July 30.
Holmes said the series of events in the investigation indicates the suspects may have been watching the victim as she left the store and went to her car.
The victim said she put her bags from the store and her child's diaper bag on the front seat of her car and her baby in the car seat in the back. She said she pushed the shopping cart in the receptacle and when she got back to her vehicle, there was a man inside.
She said he got out with the diaper bag, which had her cell phone and wallet inside, and he ran between vehicles in the parking lot.
The next day the man used one of the victim's credit cards at a business in the 3200 block of East Union Hills Drive. Police got the surveillance video from the business of the man using the credit card.
The man is described as 5'9'' to 6' tall, in his early 20s, with a heavy build and facial hair.
