Kansas City police seek clues in city's 70th homicide

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Police are investigating the city's latest homicide on the city's east side.

A passer-by discovered a man shot outside shortly before 6:30 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of East 61st Street and Jackson Avenue, in a neighborhood about one block east of Swope Parkway.

When police arrived on the scene they found a man face down in the grass. He was dead at the scene.

No arrests have been made.

This was the 70th homicide compared to 66 this time last year.
