One person was injured in a four-car wreck on Interstate 65 South near State Route 840 in Williamson County.
The driver of one of the cars involved suffered minor injuries and was transported to Williamson Medical Center.
The wreck occurred when a black Dodge Charger rear-ended a tractor-trailer going on south on I-65 about 1:50 a.m., according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
After impact, the Charger remained in the roadway and was struck by a tractor-trailer, which jackknifed into the retaining wall.
Then a Pontiac Grand Am rear-ended the second tractor-trailer.
The driver of the Grand Am was transported to Williamson Medical Center and was in stable condition, according to authorities.
A man and woman in the Charger fled the vehicle. The woman, who authorities said was intoxicated, was found in the northbound lanes of I-65. The man was found about four hours later against the rock wall of the 840 entrance ramp to I-65.
The interstate was reopened about 5:30 a.m.
One person has been taken into custody by authorities. Police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash. No charges have been filed at this time.
