Few details released after dog mauls infant

MT. PLEASANT, MI (WNEM) -

Police in Mount Pleasant responded to a call of a dog mauling on Labor Day.

The call went out Sept. 2 around 3 p.m. and involved an infant. Authorities said the child did sustain injuries, but is still hospitalized and in stable condition.

Investigators said the dog belonged to the family of the victim and has been secured and is under quarantine.

Police said they will continue to investigate the case and will release any pertinent information to the public as it becomes available.

Police did not state how old the child is or the breed of dog involved.
