A 42-year-old East Lansing man is in police custody after allegedly shooting the mother of his child.
The Flint Journal reports it happened Monday night near the BP gas station in Vienna Township following a dispute.
The Genesee County Sheriff's department says their 2-year-old daughter was in a car nearby when it happened, but she wasn't hurt. The couple was meeting at that location to exchange their daughter.
Central Dispatch 911 audio tape from the scene states, "Vienna Township needs a paramedic, a report 4,000 West Vienna, the gas station, possible shooting."
Genesee County Undersheriff Chris Swanson said following the fight, the man went back to his car to retrieve a hand gun, which he then fired at the woman. The 40-year-old woman claims the man fired two shots, and one of the bullets grazed the top of her head.
TV5 is still gathering information on this shooting and the victim's condition.
