Accident involving front-end loader kills man

Posted: Updated:

The Huron County Sheriff's office said a man was killed while working on family owned property.

Huron County Sheriff Kelly J. Hanson said deputies were dispatched to 6665 N. Lakeshore Road in Gore Township around 5:40 p.m. on Monday.

Their investigation revealed that Bruce W. Crisman, 62, of Harbor Beach, was operating a Trojan L4500 loader while he and his brother, Michael D. Crisman, 50, of Warren, were cleaning up debris from a wood's edge on the property.

Hanson said while Bruce was pulling backward a telephone pole that had been lying on the ground, Michael, who was standing nearby, somehow fell and hit his head on the loader bucket. Bruce who was looking away at the time, then accidentally pulled the pole over Michael, causing fatal injuries, said Hanson.

No further information was released.
