More money is heading to the Prescott Fire Department to help pay for replacing equipment and hiring new firefighters.

State Farm announced Wednesday a $25,000 recovery grant to help fire officials rebuild their department in the wake of the deaths of 19 Granite Mountain Hotshots in the Yarnell Hill Fire.

The money will be earmarked hiring and training new firefighters and replacing equipment and supplies.

State Farm representatives will present a check to the Prescott Fire Department during a ceremony at 10 a.m. Friday.

The event will be in the administration department at the Prescott fire station at 1700 Iron Springs Rd.
