GRAND BLANC TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

TV5 has received word that police responded to the scene of an accident involving a motorcycle, car and school bus in Grand Blanc Township.

A motorcycle had stopped for the school bus, which had it's flashers on when a car rear-ended the bike, sending the motorcycle skidding across the road. The motorcycle then hit a school bus, causing minor damage to the bumper of the bus. The driver of the school bus was just starting to pick up kids in the area as no children were on the bus at the time of the incident.

It is believed that the driver of the car was distracted by the morning sunshine.

The motorcyclist was transported to Hurley Medical Center by ambulance and is being treated for non life-threatening injuries. He was wearing a safety helmet. Two people were inside the car and neither suffered injuries. The driver of the school bus was also unharmed.

The crash caused the closure of Baldwin Road at McWain Road. The crash happened around 7:30 a.m. at 2280 East Baldwin Road. The area is right near Assumption Greek Orthodox Church.

This is one of two accidents that happened on the stretch of roadway.

Another crash happened around the same time at 2313 East Baldwin Road. Nothing is known about that accident at this time.

Police have also responded to at least six accidents in various parts of Genesee County Wednesday morning. none of which are considered to be serious.
