School uses confection to treat broken arm

PONTIAC, MI (WNEM) -

A mother is upset at her child's school for using ice cream sandwiches to soothe her daughter's broken arm.

The 7-year-old broke her arm while playing on the playground at Webber Media Arts Academy in Pontiac.

Instead of calling 911, the school immediately starting calling numbers on her emergency contact list.

The girl says her arm was in a lot of pain and the school didn't have any ice, so they brought out ice cream sandwiches instead.

Eventually her aunt came to pick her up. The girl's mother says she will be looking into another school for her daughter to attend.
