TV5 has a clarification related to a story in our 11 p.m. news Thursday night. The Catholic Diocese of Saginaw's parish restructuring plan does not include closing 50 churches by 2015 as was reported.
Under the restructuring plan, there are 29 churches where Mass will no longer be celebrated every week, but may still be used for weddings, funerals and special celebrations.
The Bishop met with concerned parishioners following last night's Holy Hour. While he says he is moved by the sadness they expressed, he remains committed to the revitalization of the diocese.
