Flint to get $1.1M grant, hire more police officers

FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

WNEM.com has learned that the Flint Police department is set to receive a $1.1 million COPS grant, which they will use to hire more police officers.

That information is according to outgoing Police Chief Alvern Lock.

On Friday, Lock announced his resignation after holding the post for about four years. Lock has been on the Flint Police force since joining as an officer in 1983.

His last day on the job has yet to be announced. Stay with WNEM.com and TV5 as we learn more about this situation.
