Police identify woman injured in crash on Route 6 in Farmington

FARMINGTON, CT (WFSB) -

A 51-year-old woman from New Britain suffered critical injuries after she was hit by a motor vehicle while walking near Route 6 in Farmington Monday night.

Lauren Galasso was walking in the area of Colt Highway and Route 6, just before 7 p.m. when she was hit by a motor vehicle, according to police.

Galasso was taken to Hartford Hospital where she is listed in critical condition, police said. As of noon, Galasso's condition had not changed.

The driver of the motor vehicle was not seriously injured, police said.

Route 6 was closed from Fienemann to Pinnacle roads for about five hours while police investigated the crash and crews clean up the debris.

The crash is being investigated by the North Central Municipal Accident Reconstruction Squad. No charges have been filed.
