SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

TV5 has learned that raids conducted in Michigan are connected to a federal investigation in Texas.

More than 60 federal agents raided two homes in northern Michigan on Friday.

The two homes are owned by a family in Texas, which has been at the center of raids near Houston over the past week.

The Houston Chronicle says agents were searching for chemicals that could be used to make tear gas or nerve gas.

It's unclear if anything was found during the raids in Michigan on Friday.

And details of the investigation are not being released but reports say it's the family's son at the center of the investigation.

WNEM will continue to follow this story and will bring you updates as more information is learned.
