A grieving mother is reaching out to the community for help in finding her son's killer.

Jeffrey Lee, 34, was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Genesee County last month.

Now his family hopes someone will come forth with information to find the driver involved in that crime.

Lee was a trucker. "He loved to truck," said his mother Brenda Miracle, who took time Monday to talk about her son, who lost his life to a hit-and-run driver.

Miracle said Lee was also a dedicated father to three children ranging in age from 14 to 8 years old.

This past weekend, Lee's mother and other family members were busy putting up dozens of flyers in Flint, trying to get information to find the hit-and-run driver. The incident happened Saturday, Sept. 28 on Dort Highway. Lee was attending a wedding reception at the Fraternal Order of Eagles club on the north side of Flint. He was struck by a dark colored 2008 or newer Chevrolet Silverado. The truck was followed by a silver or gray Chevrolet Impala. Miracle has also been busy on Facebook trying to solicit information about her son's death.

"I've been calling this ‘Justice for Jeffrey,'" said Miracle. "This is what we want to do in memory of him is to find whoever did this to him."

Miracle and her family set up a sign near where she lives so that truckers can sound a horn in memory of Jeffrey.

"The truckers [who've] been coming through have been blowing their horns, and it's in remembrance of my son," said Miracle. She said her son would have loved the sign.

Miracle hopes someone will provide information soon that the family desperately wants. "I don't have closure, I don't think I'll ever have closure...please come forward," said Miracle.

Anyone with information about the hit-and-run death of Jeffrey Lee is asked to call Flint police at 810-239- 6800.
