A date has been set for final medical marijuana dispensary applications.
The state Department of Public Health set a Nov. 21 deadline.
The department says it expects to award licenses on Jan. 31.
After the first phase, 158 applications were approved.
Phase two applications will be evaluated by a selection committee.
They'll be scored on factors like ability to meet patient needs, appropriateness of the site, local support and plans to ensure public safety.
The DPH can register up to 35 nonprofit marijuana dispensaries across the state in the first year.
Each county can have at least one, but no more than five dispensaries.
There are 24 proposals for medical marijuana dispensaries in Western Mass.
