SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) - Springfield had another violent weekend, but for the first weekend in a month there were no homicides.
The Republican reports that city police were busy from Friday night through early Monday morning, handling multiple stabbing calls, domestic disputes and gun calls, including an incident involving a firearm outside a nightclub.
A stabbing outside a club at about 2:30 a.m. Monday remains under investigation.
Two other people, including a woman, were arrested over the weekend in stabbings. One man was arrested Sunday morning for firing a gun and pistol whipping a woman during a large brawl in the city's South End.
City police investigated fatal shootings for three consecutive weekends.
