County clerk agrees to not issue same-sex marriage licenses

Posted: Updated:
MIDLAND, MI (WNEM) -

A marriage amendment co-author is urging a local county clerk not to issue same sex "marriage" licenses.

Midland County Clerk Ann Manary, is one of only two county clerks in Michigan whose office has vowed to defy the state's constitution.

If a federal judge rules the state's voter-approved marriage protection amendment is unconstitutional that means they could start issuing homosexual "marriage" licenses this week.
