BAY COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

TV5 has learned that an injury accident on westbound U.S. 10 between M-47 and Carter Road in Bay County backed up traffic immensely Tuesday morning.

According to the Bay County Sheriff's Department, one passenger was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. Apparently, the driver of a Saturn swerved while trying to avoid a deer and into the path of a semi-truck. The truck then hit the Saturn and the Saturn rolled over as a result.

Emergency responders were on the scene. We received word of the crash at around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.

We also have received word of a crash in the same area that also backed up traffic. That crash happened around 8:45 a.m. on westbound U.S. 10 near the Garfield Road exit near Auburn.

This crash may have resulted from the backed up traffic caused by the initial crash. Not much is known about either crash.

TV5 will continue to follow this story and will provide updates as new information comes in.
