HARRISBURG, Pa., Oct. 16, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Monday, Oct. 21, the state will host the fifth installment of "Motor Monday" with more than 600 state vehicles up for bid including 38 "frontline ready" vehicles, more than 40 motorcycles, four ATVs and vehicles seized by state law enforcement agencies.
"Commonwealth vehicle auctions are a great way to get a quality used vehicle at a fair price," Phillips said. "With the addition of the 'front-line ready' vehicles, this auction offers potential buyers the opportunity to purchase the same road-ready vehicles you would get at a car dealership."
The "frontline ready" vehicles all have appropriate vehicle titles and current Pennsylvania inspection. The vehicles were acquired by PennDOT from a dealership for a road-widening project, featuring brands such as Cadillac, Chevrolet, Ford, Lexus, Lincoln, Mercury and Subaru.
Motorcycles and ATVs from manufacturers including Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha will be offered.
In addition, vehicles no longer used by state agencies from manufacturers such as Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Jeep and others will be up for bid.
A vehicle preview for the public to inspect the vehicles will take place daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17 through Sunday, Oct. 20, at the Manheim Auto Auctions in Grantville.
The auction will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 21. Registration opens at 8 a.m. and closes at noon. Buyers may purchase with cash or certified funds in the form of money orders, cashier's checks, certified checks or bank checks – all made payable to "Manheim Central Penn Auto Auction."
This is the fifth of six vehicle auctions held by the state this year and all revenue generated is returned to the state.
